Details-  This family run hotel is in the Old Town of Salzburg within a short walk of the major sights.  Dating back to 1365, as a private residence, it is an excellent choice for your stay.  As you enter the large lobby you will notice a combination of Old World touches and modern pieces.  Fine leather chairs sit next to old tables with antique clocks under a wood beamed ceiling.  The guest rooms are medium size and all have double/queen beds (no twins available here expect for single rooms).  Mini bars and TVs are in each room and many rooms have a seating area.  Armoires serve as closets.  The bathrooms offer either a bath tub with hand shower (more expensive) or an enclosed shower.  The breakfast room is very charming with lots of wood paneling and large tables that the guests share.  An extra bonus is the small lounge with internet access.

Notes- With only 23 rooms you won't have any tour busses unloading here, a plus in our book!  Typical of Europe, there are no "non-smoking" rooms, but if you let them know in advance, they will make every attempt to have other non-smokers stay in the room before your visit.  They will also leave the windows open on your day of arrival to help clear the air.  The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are many choices close by.

Quotes-   “Though not my favorite in Salzburg, this comes in a close second, and wins first place for casual Old World charm!”  Steven Hurley, December 2002
