Details- This most charming hotel sits on a hillside among vineyards just outside the the wine producing town of Itterswiller.  By far my favorite in the Alsace Region and on the famous wine route.  The hotel has Old World charm with refined and classic taste.  The main building has 22 rooms decorated in warm yellow color with Alsatian hand stencil designs on the walls.  Of the three floors that make up the building, the lower two both offer balconies with wonderful views over the region's vineyards.  There is an annex building with 8 rooms that are a bit larger, but as of our visit they are not as beautiful as those in the main building.  Some of the rooms offer baths while others have showers, so make your preference known.

Notes- The hotel has an extremely charming restaurant and weinstube or wine tasting room as well as one of the most delightful gift boutiques.  High season for this region is in the fall, to coincide with the grape crush and the many wine festivals.

Quotes-  "This hotel is so charming that you may not want to go to the other towns on the wine route-but you should!  "  Steven Hurley, March 2002.
