Details- This
18th century mansion is located just off the main square of the
bustling town
of Bayeux. The prime location is
one of it's features. The entrance is set back from the main shopping
and dining street. Plenty of flowers invite you up the dual
staircases leading to the entrance of the main building. Although some of
the rooms are small, you are sure to enjoy the ones that face the garden at the
back of the building. The garden is an oasis from the main street and is
available for guests to relax or enjoy an afternoon drink. There is no
elevator in the hotel and rooms are 1 to 2 flights above the lobby.
Notes-
As
with all of the hotels in the Normandy area, make sure you reserve far in
advance if you are traveling in Spring or Summer. Private parking is
available at an extra cost. The hotel is closed from mid December to mid January.
Quotes-
"Being able to walk down the town's shopping and dinning street to
the cathedral and the famous Bayeux tapestry is what makes this place a
treasure." Steven Hurley, October 2001.
"We were 7 in 3 rooms.
Beds were very comfortable, rooms very clean. The garden is so
attractive. One wants to sit there and enjoy it. The owners
and Cindy were so friendly. Their warmth makes (us) want to go back
as soon as possible. The staff was very friendly and efficient."
Jacques G., Novato, CA, September 2004
