Details- The Hotel des Remparts is a fine 3 star choice for a visit to Beaune, the capital of the Burgundy Region. The owners and staff are hard at work to make sure their guests enjoy their stay. The hotel gets its name because some of the rooms are part of the town's original walls, or ramparts. There are windy wood and stone staircases, which can be difficult to manage with luggage or mobility problems, but they lead to rooms which are fairly large. Rooms have parquet or tiled floors and a mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings. Some of the rooms also have old fireplaces and wood beamed ceilings. On our visit, some of the fabrics (bed spreads and curtains) were in need of updating. Most of the rooms look out onto a common courtyard which is a nice break from the towns' hustle and bustle.

Notes- The hotel has one of the best locations in town, central but quiet. You can walk to all of the shops and wine tasting opportunities. To visit the wineries in the country side, you can use your car, or the hotel can help arrange a tour. The hotel also offers extra services such as internet access, laundry, bike rentals and more. If you are traveling in the summer, note that not all rooms have air conditioning, please ask when booking. Also, not all rooms have safes, a minibar or hair dryers, if any of these items are important, please ask specifically.
