Details- This
Epernay hotel is a former private mansion of the Chandon family located two blocks
from
Avenue de Champagne where you can visit the cellars of all the most famous
and exclusive Champagne producers of France. Mrs. Woda has seen to every
detail of her 7 room hotel, each room is named and uniquely
decorated in a sophisticated mix of modern and Art Deco accented antiques. The
architectural trim is enhanced with sisal rugs, pale
cream faux finishes, custom silk window treatments on the 12' windows,
marble sculptures, modern art and rare wood bathroom countertops. You
are given a code for the private gate which encloses the hotel and its
free secure parking spaces. This is a serene retreat set in a rather
work-a-day neighborhood that offers sophisticated luxury at very
reasonable rates.
Notes-
The
homemade breakfast is an additional charge, but offers beautiful boutique
preserves, fresh croissant and eggs with bacon. This is one of the
best French breakfasts we've had. Outdoor tables are set for
breakfast in good weather, and while there is not an onsite bar,
champagne, beer and wine are served around the fireplace in the beautiful
parlor.
Quotes-
"Fresh flowers in the room and beautiful bathroom amenities
including robes make our stay even more special." Steven
Hurley, September 2004
"Everything that you see has been arranged by the hand of an
artist. This is an elegant and relaxing retreat from which to
experience the best of the Champagne region." Roger Tinsman,
March 2002.
