Details- This
18th century mansion is tucked away in the town of Amboise. In 1999 an
American couple completely renovated the property into a luxurious 6 room Bed
and Breakfast. Once you enter the gates you feel as though you
are not staying in town at all. The gate and walls surround the mansion
and its welcoming French garden. The fact is that you are only a short walking distance to over 30 restaurants, the famous Chateau of Amboise and
Leonardo da Vinci's home. This is also an excellent base for touring all
of the Loire Valley.
Notes- Each of the 6 rooms in the main building are named after a famous French woman. While the rooms vary in size and price, all are very tastefully decorated, and include many designer touches. Some of the rooms have an open layout with the bathroom right in the room, while others have a private bath. Either way the bathrooms are very luxurious and feature beautiful tile work. Breakfast is served in a lovely garden atrium. Please note that this is a non-smoking property and small children are not allowed. Stays of 1 night are only permitted during off season.
Special Note!- There is also a small 2 bedroom cottage on the property that is perfect for families (children over 5). It has a private living area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and one bath. Each day the fridge is stocked with breakfast and a complimentary bottle of wine. The rates range from 195 - 330 Euros per night depending on the number of people and the time of year. This unit is only available for stays of 3 nights or more.
