Details- Mr. Buffat, the hotels owner for 25 years, has instilled a high level of service and charm to this small property, and another that he runs just down the street. The small lobby offers a fireplace and seating area with newspapers and fresh flowers. A small desk near the door is usually occupied by Natalie, the manager who will check you in, make dinner reservations for you and answer questions, all with unruffled ease. It is situated on the only street through the center of the Ile Saint Louis. It is only wide enough for a single car, so there is no noise, and it is absolutely ideal.

Notes- The hotel is compact with the tiniest of breakfast rooms and a two person elevator. The guestrooms are medium sized, all similarly decorated with Provencal fabrics and very clean up-to-date bathrooms (though hand showers over tubs have no shower curtains). Double pane windows and air-conditioning keep rooms quiet. Some of the rooms have exposed beam ceilings, and rooms 112, 222, 332, 442, & 552 are the larger ones facing the street. Room 661 is the largest. Room 662 faces the back, and has a view above the rooftops out to Le Panthéon in the distance. This hotel is full all year with its loyal clientele. We need to book it well in advance.
