Details- This is a 2 star property whose main business is the downstairs restaurant, but certain rooms of the 10 available are just outstanding for their price and location.  Staying in Les Baux will reward you with almost deserted streets in the evenings.  Ask for room #2, a bright red orange painted interior with twin beds for its huge beautiful balcony overlooking the Val d'Enfer.  Room 1 has a smaller patio. There is no elevator, but halls are painted with flair in dark royal hues.  Rooms 9, 10 and 15 have valley views, rooms 3 and 4 have small views of the village, and rooms 5, 11, and 12 offer views of the ruined chateau.

Notes- The hotel claims that Winston Churchill stayed here. In keeping with the 2 star rating, the bedding is not luxurious, and there is a lot of variation in the room decor and amenities, but all have TV and telephone, most have a minibar and seating area.  Parking is paid and a bit inconvenient just outside the city wall.

Quotes-  "I was impressed with the style evident in this humble property, and the low prices are unbelievable.  Ask for room number 2 with a huge balcony."  Roger Tinsman, March 2002.
