Details- Located
right in the center of the charming St. Rémy de Provence, this 32 room
(and suites) hotel is a notch above our normal recommendations. The
theme of the hotel is photography including a gallery, a projection hall
(which was once the town's theater, and now shows films for guests), and
fully equipped photo-labs where lessons can be had. But you don't have
to be a photographer to appreciate this slice of heaven! When you
enter the property you can hardly believe you just left the
sidewalk. The lobby and adjoining (French-Japanese) restaurant are a
lesson in beauty, modern sophisticated décor, elegance and style all in one minute. The
2.5 acre gardens include two pools, many trees and transport you instantaneously
into the countryside. This hotel feels like a spa,
and even has a masseuse on hand.
Notes- The standard rooms are simple, small yet charming, and located in the old theater building. The superior rooms (with terraces), and the suites are in the new Provence building. These rooms feature patios, flat screen TVs with DVD and CD sound systems as well as separate tubs and showers in the bathrooms. The top suite includes an outdoor tree fort reached from your private patio, which can be used to relax during the afternoon siesta, for sleeping in the evening or to partake of a private meal. We need not say that this is a 4 star property and comes with all the amenities. If you are traveling in the winter, you may be able to get a generous multi-day discount.
