Details- The Hecker's Hotel is located in the lively shopping area known as Kurfürstendamm or KuDamm.  The lobby and main lounge (where breakfast is also served) are ultra modern and feature sleek lines, minimalist art, a glass block bar and blue mood lighting.  Attached to the hotel (but not related) is a nice restaurant serving Italian fare.  On the upper floors the generic concrete block walls lead to the 66 rooms and 3 amazing suites.  The hotel has a roof top terrace that is only open in summer months, as well as a massage service.  There are non-smoking rooms available, but ask in advance.

Notes- For a city the size of Berlin the rooms are very nice in size, except the singles which are a bit crammed.  The rooms do not have a lot of charm, but are very adequate and have all the features such as a minibar, air conditioning, safes, cable TV, good sized desks with chairs and safes.  Internet modems are available for an extra charge.  The bathrooms are spacious and feature modern fixtures.  If you have the means and the will to splurge, the hotel has 3 suites that are out of this world.  Each has multiple rooms and a unique theme.  One is the 'Tuscany', another the 'Colonial' and the third is the 'Bauhaus'.  This hotel also offers deluxe double rooms that are a step between the suites and the standard rooms.

Quotes-  "As we toured the hotel I noticed small gifts left in the rooms of regular guests, a nice sign that the hotel cares for it's guests."  Steven Hurley, December 2004.
