Details- This hotel is owned and run by charming and professional Gabriele Berger-Klatte, and it is obvious that she takes great pride in this gem of a property. This small hotel is located atop the medieval town wall mere steps from the castle gardens. Each of the15 unique rooms offer views of the surrounding valley or an adjacent Cloister garden. A wide staircase leads from the lobby to the cheerful breakfast room and patio overlooking the Tauber River, and then on up to the large rooms. As enchanting on the outside as it is on the inside, this is truly the finest and most picturesque hotel of its kind within the old town walls. Its location is just secluded enough to offer relief from the day trippers who descend on Rothenburg. You can see the town in the evening and morning before the busses arrive, and retreat here or hike through the country side during the crush of the tourist hours.
