Details-
This hotel is located within the old walls of
the medieval city of Rothenburg, one of the best stops on the
Romantic Road. The hotel is in a 500 year old building and run by Inge
and Kurt. Although some of the rooms are small, they are all light and
airy. The rooms have typical Bavarian pine wood furnishings and wonderful
down comforters and pillows. Some rooms have a view of the city's old
walls. The typical German breakfast buffet that is served is one of the
best we have ever had. There is a tranquil garden off the back of the
hotel where you can enjoy a beer from the hotel's cafe which serves light meals
for lunch. During the Christmas Markets the cafe is a great place for an
evening hot chocolate.
Notes- Rothenburg is overrun by tourists during the day. If you are traveling the Romantic Road, we suggest you arrive here in the late afternoon. You can see the town in the evening and morning before the busses arrive. If you have more than one night you can visit other close by towns during the day or there are trails that you can use to hike the country side during the crush of the tourists.
