Details- The 25 room Loucas hotel in Satnorini has been family owned for over 35 years. The great location in Fira with its views, terraces, pool, cafe bar and restaurant make it a nice choice. The property is a bit off the main road, and there are many small stairs on the property itself. Keep in mind your luggage as you make choices about hotels on the island. The lobby is small and unimpressive, but the outdoor sprawling terraces and pool do impress, especially if you are budget conscious. In the heat of summer the hotel bar and restaurant can be noisy late into the night. The hotel offers a variety of packages with savings based on length of stay, time of year and extras such as transfers and meal plans.

Notes- The rooms feel a bit stark, but this is somewhat typical in this category on Greek islands. Tile floors and white-washed walls prevail. The rooms include all the basics such as air conditioning, telephone, TV, safe and a mini fridge. There is a lack of light in the rooms, the only remedy to which is to keep the windows and doors wide open, and our least favorite thing was the small bathrooms with showers which are about 2 foot by 2 foot wide or mini tubs with hand showers but no shower curtains. If you need a luxurious bathroom, then pass on this hotel. If clean basics will suffice, then this hotel is worth the consideration.
