Details- The Hotel Villa Renos is one of our very favorite hotels, not for the beauty of its decor, but for being such a charming property located in an idyllic setting.  With only eight rooms it is owned and operated by the gregarious and friendly family of Petro, his wife Zina and their son Vassili.  In 2003 the family completely renovated the hotel, and this work moved the hotel from a 3 star to a 4 star property.  It is located in the old town of Fira (Santorini) at the crest of the cliffs and commands stunning views of the sea, the caldera and out to the famous sunsets beyond.  Large public and private terraces make the special view easy to enjoy.  It's no wonder that this hotel is a favorite spot for weddings and honeymoons.  There are many hotels on the cliff's edge, and like all of them this hotel is not accessible to the door by car, but it is only a short walk from the road.  You should be able to negotiate stairs since the rooms descend the hill and there is no elevator.  You may be able to find more extravagant accommodations on Santorini, but none friendlier.

Notes- In all there are 8 rooms, four standard and four deluxe.  The rooms feature handmade furniture and have a beach like feel in the white plaster and tile details.  Each room has a mini bar, coffee and tea maker, direct dial phone, internet outlets for laptops, safes, satellite TV and air conditioning.  The larger deluxe rooms have Jacuzzi tubs in the bathroom and 1 special room has a private outdoor hot tub.  The bathrooms really show the quality of the remodel and feature magnifying mirrors, hairdryers, and new wood cabinets.  A homemade typical Greek breakfast (some parts of which come from the owners farm) is served in the charming breakfast room or out on the terrace in summer.  The hotel does not have a pool, but it has a large 6 person outdoor Jacuzzi that offers wonderful views.  A small exercise room is also available.

Special Note- This hotel is well known for hosting weddings and accommodating the entire wedding party.  If you are interested in getting married in Greece, they can help with all the arrangements.

Quotes-  "I'll agree, the best hotel was Villa Renos.  The room and bath were beautiful and with our private hot tub, what else could this sun worshiper say?" Debbie B., Elk Grove, CA June 2005

"My favorite hotel was Villa Renos in Santorini.  The room was large, the bathroom was luxurious, and the view was amazing.  In addition, I enjoyed spending time with the owners and eating the delicious breakfast every morning." Richard W. Sacramento, CA June 2005

"This was the best of the hotels because you have it all; remarkable view, great location, great rooms and bathrooms.  The breakfast was the best.  The owners, Petros and Zina were so nice.  It was just a wonderful place with wonderful people." Laura W. Sacramento, CA June 2005

"The Villa Renos has to be my favorite, the owner Petros added a special flavor to the whole Santorini experience."  Bill S., Lodi, CA June 2005

"This small family run hotel is one of the very best options in Santorini.  You get a cozy family atmosphere right in the heart of thriving Fira."  Steven Hurley, March 2004.
