– This Hotel-Villa is a bit off the beaten
path in Capri. After taking the funicular to the main square in town, the
hotel is a 10 minute walk uphill, towards the Villa Jovis. If uphill walks
are not for you, then consider another location, but if you would like a
peaceful, quiet moderately priced hotel that is still close to the action in
Capri, this is an excellent choice. As you enter the gate of the
white-washed Mediterranean villa you pass the lovely gardens and terraces.
The lobby and bar are light and airy but the rooms are a bit small and
simple. The 20 rooms have all the amenities you will need (TV, mini bar,
private bath) but not all of them have air conditioning, so make sure to request
this in advance if your visit is during the summer. For an extra
special stay, request a room with a terrace.
Notes- You can request, and pay a supplement, to get assistance with your luggage from the town square to the hotel. Upper floor rooms offer views of the sea and lower floor rooms offer garden views. Compared to the exorbitant prices on this very special island, this hotel is a good value. You must reserve far in advance if you are coming in the summer months. The hotel is closed from November through March.
