This hotel is set amid lemon and olives trees, overlooking the old town of
Monterosso al Mare, a 5 minute walk down to the sea. The Cinque Terre, known for its
natural beauty and hiking trails, is not known for a large
assortment of hotels. Many opt for the "show up & look for a
room" method, which is recommended in many guide books, but we prefer to secure a
room here. The 16 room hotel is family run (along with another hotel
closer to the train station in town) and watched over by a friendly young
couple. If you are driving to the Cinque Terre this is an
excellent option accessible from the main roads with a small parking
lot.
Notes- The lobby and rooms of the hotel have recently been remodeled and are nice, clean and simply furnished. Many of the rooms have a balcony or patio with views of the Mediterranean. All the rooms offer TV with CNN, air conditioning, safe, an enclosed shower and hair dryer. You also get a small fridge where you can store drinks or some food. There is a bright room open to the lobby and a small terrace where breakfast is served in the morning and drinks are served throughout the day. A big plus is the on site laundry facilities and internet access.
