This Villa was originally built in the early 1500s as a hunting manor for
Cardinal Passerini. Located in the hills of Tuscany near the medieval city of Cortona,
it sits in a bucolic area surrounded by Italian Oak and Linden trees.
The owners,
Alessandra and her father John, purchased the property in 1999 and completed the renovations in 2001. The Villa has a formal Italian garden and a beautiful new swimming pool
(52’ x 26’). Every room is
different and includes mini bar, satellite television and air-conditioning.
The bathrooms are modern and include towel warmers and oversized shower heads.
This is a great location for visiting the towns of Tuscany and Umbria.
Cortona, featured in Frances Mayes bestseller ‘Under the Tuscan Sun”,
is only ten minutes by car. Other
options include Lake Trasimeno (15 minutes), Siena (45 minutes), Assisi (30
minutes), Florence (2 hours) and the vineyards of Chianti (2 hours).
Notes- The villa does not have a restaurant, but will prepare a typical Tuscan dinner for guest upon request. The cost is 30 euros per person, including house wine and must be reserved in advance. For one of the larger rooms, request a junior suite, we recommend La Limonaia and Studio Passerini (pictured).
