Details- The modern and upscale entrance to this hotel is through an elevator lobby that also serves other business offices.  Don’t let the high tech look put you off, because the hotel itself is very Old World.  A lovely reading parlor with bar featuring large tapestries and comfortable furniture offsets a small hotel desk.  Occupying the upper floors of the 14th century Minerbetti Strozzi palace in old Florence, it is very close to all the major sights. It has a wonderful rooftop garden that is used for breakfast during summer, and that serves dinner on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights.  All rooms are air conditioned, and have satellite TV, mini bar and telephone.  The bathrooms are modern and very clean.  It is a great neighborhood for shopping and dining, as well as sightseeing in this magical city.  This has been a favorite hotel since the 20’s with  signatures in the guest book of John Steinbeck and Fredrick March

Quotes- "This makes a great base for shopping, and I love the roof garden!”  Steven Hurley, July 2001
