Details- L’Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini was originally built as a palace for the pontifical family, Piccolomini, at the end of the 16th century.  It has been carefully restored to preserve its artistic and historical riches, including large halls, arches and frescoes.  It has all the comforts of a high-end hotel.  The Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini has 3 suites, 22 double rooms and 7 single rooms, all with air conditioning, in room bar, cable/satellite TV, bathroom facilities and services for the disabled.  On site you will also find a congress hall, breakfast hall, reading room, café, wine-cellar and private parking.  The hotel is located in the historical-artistic medieval quarter, within walking distance of the lovely Cathedral of Orvieto.

Notes- The decorating in this hotel is done in a minimalist style.  Clean, simple, yet elegant rooms and furnishings.  The hotel does not have a restaurant for an evening meal, but is within easy walking distance of some lovely restaurants.

Quotes-  “This hotel was a nice find in Orvieto.  I will definitely return to L’Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini in the future.  Their large breakfast was excellent -- the best we had during our two week trip throughout Italy.”  Jan and Mark B., October, 2006
