Rome Hotel ReviewAlbergo Internazionale Roma Rome, Italy Price: $$$ Travels with Friends Charm Rating: 75 ![]() Details- This hotel is located near the top of the Spanish Steps. Like much of Rome, the hotel was built on top of ruins, and it has been a hotel since 1870. When renovations were done some artifacts from the ruins were salvaged and used in the lobby, which mixes antiquities with modern pieces and halogen lighting to showcase them. The breakfast room is very charming and features dark wood as do most of the rooms. The use of wood in the rooms is the most pronounced element and lends an Old World, unique character. All rooms have sitting areas, desks, mini bars, safes and air conditioning. Bathrooms are average size and include hair dryers. Notes- The hotel has a bar and lounge on site. Many dinning options are near the hotel. The Spanish Steps attract a huge crowd of mostly teens every evening, who want to be part of the scene. The hotel caters to a very international clientele. Parking is available for a fee. Quotes- “This hotel has a sense of history that I find intriguing. Modern art mixes with antiquities and turn of the century antiques to make a unified whole.” Roger Tinsman, June 2002 |
