Details- This hotel is located in a building that was once the home of the Borghese princess.  The hotel is in an excellent location, although not close to a Metro stop.  It's an easy walk to The Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, Piazza Noavona  and Via del Corso for shopping.  The rooms, though average in size, are newly furnished in traditional Italian style.  The rooms have sitting areas, desks, TV, telephone and excellent air conditioning (important for those hot Rome days).  The bathrooms have modern fixtures including hairdryers.

Notes- The entrance to the hotel is a bit difficult to find.  You enter an enclosed courtyard and take an easily overlooked elevator to the second floor, where the lobby is located.  The main drawback on the property is its lack of public space.  The lobby is tiny and has two couches crowded around a TV, but no lounge, bar, or garden area.

Quotes- “What an excellent location and a cool oasis from the Roman sun.”  Steven Hurley, June 2002
