Details- This hotel is located right behind the Pantheon.  It is within an easy walk to almost every major sight in Rome including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum, the Roman Forum and the Vatican.  The Corteggiani family has been running this hotel since 1838.  It is one of the oldest hotels in Rome, but was completely refurbished in 1994.  This hotel has 98 rooms (larger than the typical hotel we recommend) but it has been set up in a very intimate way. The lobby is finished with marble, and the public rooms are spacious.  The excellent air conditioning can be a relief from the summer heat of Rome!  A large European breakfast is served in the Breakfast room on the ground floor, and a smaller sitting room and American Bar are on the second floor.  The rooms are modern in shades of green or rust and are generally spacious.  The modern bathrooms are well equipped, some with shower stalls, and some with bath/shower combinations.  Every room is different and includes a mini bar, satellite television and air-conditioning.

Quotes- “This hotels’ location alone is reason to stay here, but combined with the large staff and value-for-your-Euro, it is a real find!”  Roger Tinsman, July 2001
