Details- This Renaissance Palace was converted to a hotel in the 1920's and it has remained in the same family ever since.  The location is quiet, even though you are very close to the main square of Siena.  The public spaces are beautiful and include dark wood floors, antiques and high arched frescoed ceilings.  The large garden in the back allows you to escape this bustling city and offers panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside.  The 30 rooms all have cable TV, mini bars, safes and air conditioning in the summer.  The hotel verges on 4 stars and offers a nightly turndown service, room service, laundry services and an internet point.  There is also a fine restaurant on site.

Notes-  The prices of the rooms are based on size.  The small loft rooms and standard rooms are adequate for a short stay.  The superior rooms have arm chairs or a small sofa.  All junior suites have garden views and special features such as fireplaces, balconies and decorated ceilings.  Finally the suites have a separate seating area and Jacuzzi tubs.

Quotes-

"This is a special oasis in the heart of Siena."  Steven Hurley, March  2003
