Details- This hotel is located on the island of Isola dei Pescatori near Stresa on Lake Maggiore. You park in Stresa at public lots and then take a ferry to the island, which is entirely pedestrian. The hotel has a fine restaurant, and dinner can be included in your room rate if you choose. There is a large outdoor terrace where meals or drinks are served in warm weather. Each of the rooms is named after a flower that the colors of the room match. Most of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with flower filled window boxes. The bathrooms feature large beautiful tile, but you'll need it since there are no shower curtains in the tubs / showers.

Notes- The hotel has a lot of charm including a large fireplace, but some of the charm includes creaky floors and worn antiques. If you're not in the right mood, the 'ruined finery' might be too much for you. There are no TVs or phones in the rooms, but there is one in a large sitting room that has several couches and includes games which guests can enjoy. Our favorite rooms include numbers 2 and 5 which have a large patio (shared with other rooms) but also a small private terrace. Please note that the island is small and that a visit during the off season will either be very romantic, or very desolate. We suggest visiting between spring and fall only. There are many stray cats on the island and around the hotel, and you might have a problem if you have allergies.
