Details- This hotel sits in a hidden location down a small street (a hallway almost!) mere steps away from Piazza San Marco. The lobby and public rooms are all charming and appointed in dark antique woods. A small garden, quite a luxury for Venice, leads off the lobby into the back where breakfast is served when weather permits. You can also enjoy a drink from the bar there as you relax to the sounds of the fountain. All 40 rooms are old world in style, decorated using typical Venetian fabrics and overwrought furniture. They are well air conditioned and offer satellite TV, telephone, mini bar and safe, as well as modern bathrooms. There is no restaurant on site, other than the breakfast room, but a multitude of wonderful food choices abound in all directions from the door. Rooms 3 and 47 have views of the dome of La Salute. Try to get one of them. The suite can accommodate up to 5 and has a wonderful view of the adjoining private villa.
