PassportsRequired Document
Citizens
of the United States must have a valid passport good for six months after your
expected departure date, to enter European countries. You will probably
only be asked to show your passport when arriving by plane or when using a rail
pass on a train. Don’t be disappointed if border patrols do not stamp
your passport.
Passports
are valid for 10 years and cost $97.00. You can apply at a Passport Agency
(appointment required) or most major post offices. Passports for those
under 16 years old are $82 and are valid for 5 years. Renewals are less expensive. Renewals can be done via the
mail as long as your current passport is still valid. Refer to www.travel.state.gov
for further information.
